The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has reiterated his vision of passing away peacefully on a Sunday after attending church service and enjoying his favorite meal, pounded yam. Speaking at the church’s ongoing International Convention themed “The Overcomers,” Adeboye emphasized that death doesn’t always follow prolonged illness and assured believers that his departure would be sudden and painless.
This isn’t the first time Pastor Adeboye has shared this vision. Two years ago, he made a similar prediction, and now he’s repeating it to reassure believers that death can be peaceful for those in Christ. According to him, his passing will occur after attending a Sunday service, where he’ll dance in worship, return home, eat pounded yam, and then pass on without any sickness.
Delivering a sermon titled “Possess Your Possessions,” Adeboye urged Christians to actively claim their God-given blessings, emphasizing that spiritual blessings often require fighting for. He drew parallels from the biblical story of the Israelites taking the Promised Land, highlighting areas where believers must resist spiritual opposition, including healing, prosperity, fruitfulness, and long life. “In many cases, you may have to fight for things that are already yours,” he said.
Adeboye encouraged believers to reject all forms of spiritual oppression, citing biblical figures like Rachel and Hannah, who overcame barrenness through persistent prayer. He emphasized that Jesus Christ paid a great price for believers’ healing, prosperity, and long life, and that they must fight to possess their possessions. “Stop tolerating sickness, poverty, barrenness, or premature death. Fight to possess your possessions – it’s your spiritual duty, made possible by Christ’s sacrifice,” he concluded.
Pastor Adeboye’s prediction has sparked reactions from RCCG members and beyond, with many taking to social media to pray for his long life and express admiration for his faith. As a revered spiritual leader, Adeboye’s words carry significant weight, and his emphasis on spiritual perseverance and faith continues to inspire believers.
