President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his gratitude to governors for their trust in him and pledged not to fail them. Speaking during a one-day official visit to Nasarawa State, Tinubu commended the governors for their consistency in pursuing the vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at rebuilding lives and the nation.
The President’s visit to Nasarawa State was marked by the inauguration of several projects, including an interchange and flyover in central Lafia, a new secretariat building, roads, tractors for mechanized farming, and operational vehicles for security agencies. The governors of Kaduna, Imo, Borno, Ogun, Kwara, and Benue States were in attendance.
Tinubu emphasized that the Renewed Hope Agenda would reposition the economy to benefit young Nigerians and future generations. He cited the example of Governor Sule of Nasarawa State, who completed the interchange project without borrowing a penny. “We have seen it in Governor Sule. We just commissioned an interchange, and he told us he did not borrow a penny for completion,” he said.
The Emir of Lafia, who is also the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, extolled President Tinubu’s leadership style, particularly for transforming the Nigerian economy. He praised Tinubu’s achievements as Governor of Lagos and expressed confidence that he would replicate the same success at the federal level. “Your Excellency, you are translating the same into the Nigerian economy, and before you leave office, Nigeria will be great again,” he said.
The Emir pledged his support and that of the Emirate for the President, while Governor Sule received the President at the airport and accompanied him to the inauguration of the projects. Tinubu’s visit to Nasarawa State was a demonstration of his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda and his determination to work with state governors to achieve development and progress in the country.
