Nigerian actor Alex Ekubo is being mourned across the entertainment industry after his family opened a condolence register in his honor, drawing an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues.
The register, opened at the family residence, has attracted visitors offering prayers and tributes to the late Nollywood star. Fans have also extended heartfelt condolences to Ekubo’s closest friends, fellow actor IK Ogbonna and fashion designer Yomi Casual, both of whom were widely known to share a strong bond with him.
Ekubo, celebrated for his roles in romantic comedies and dramas, was regarded as one of Nollywood’s most charismatic talents. His passing has sparked widespread mourning across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with tributes flooding social media platforms.

Colleagues shared emotional posts in remembrance. One described him as “a beautiful human being, loving, real, kind, and always so respectful every single time we worked together,” adding that he would be “deeply missed.” Another, who referred to Ekubo as her “bestie,” wrote: “I’m devastated. My bestie! Why? We had a plan! How are we supposed to move on? This is too much.”
Others recalled his kindness and support during difficult times, noting his generosity and friendship. “I wanted a chance to repay you for your kindness, but not like this. Goodbye, rest in the bosom of God Almighty,” one tribute read.
Additional colleagues expressed shock and heartbreak, with one writing: “Are you telling me I will never see Ikuku again? My spirit is broken. You were a wonderful person. Rest well, Champ.”
