The Nigerian Air Force has released the list of successful candidates for its 2025 Basic Military Training Course, with recruits scheduled to begin training on July 19 as the service continues efforts to strengthen its personnel and operational capacity.

In a statement, the Air Force said candidates who successfully passed the recruitment process are expected to report to the Military Training Centre on the designated date. The service urged all successful applicants to carefully follow the reporting instructions, including bringing the required documents and personal items needed for registration and training.

Military officials said the training program is designed to prepare recruits for service through physical fitness exercises, military discipline, academic instruction and leadership development. The course is intended to equip new personnel with the skills needed to perform their duties in support of Nigeria’s air defense and national security operations.

The recruitment exercise forms part of the Nigerian Air Force’s regular efforts to replenish its workforce and maintain operational readiness. The Air Force has expanded its role in recent years, supporting military operations against insurgent groups, armed bandits and other criminal networks in different parts of the country while also providing humanitarian assistance and disaster response when required.

Authorities advised successful candidates to arrive at the training center on time and comply with all administrative and medical requirements before the commencement of the program. The Air Force also cautioned applicants and members of the public to rely only on official communication channels for recruitment information, warning against fraudsters who demand money or promise employment in exchange for payment.

The announcement is expected to bring relief to thousands of applicants who participated in the recruitment process after months of screening and evaluation. Recruitment into Nigeria’s armed forces is often highly competitive, attracting large numbers of young people seeking careers in military service, education and technical training.

Defense analysts say regular recruitment is essential for maintaining the strength and effectiveness of the armed forces, particularly as Nigeria continues to confront complex security challenges. A well trained military, they note, is critical not only to protecting national borders but also to supporting regional stability in West Africa, where countries face common threats from terrorism, organized crime and cross border insecurity.

The Nigerian Air Force, established in 1964, is one of the three branches of Nigeria’s Armed Forces alongside the Army and Navy. As the new recruits prepare to begin training on July 19, the service says it remains committed to building a professional and capable force to meet the country’s evolving security needs while upholding national and international military standards.
