LONDON (FN) — King Charles III and Queen Camilla met Prince Harry, Meghan and their two children for the first time in four years, British media reported Friday, marking a rare family reunion after years of tension within the royal household.

The PA news agency and several UK outlets said Harry’s family travelled from an undisclosed location in Europe to Highgrove, the king’s private residence in southwest England. Buckingham Palace did not immediately comment on the reports.

Harry arrived in Britain earlier in the week to mark the one‑year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, the international sporting event for wounded veterans that he founded. Meghan and the couple’s children Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5 were initially expected to remain abroad, reportedly due to concerns over police protection.

The children had not seen their grandfather since 2022, when the family relocated to California after stepping back from royal duties.

The reunion comes during a turbulent period for Harry. On Tuesday, he and several public figures including Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley lost a court case against the publisher of the Daily Mail, in which they alleged unlawful information gathering. A new hearing scheduled for July 29–30 could result in substantial legal costs for the complainants.

The case is one of several legal battles Harry has pursued against British tabloids, which he accuses of invading his privacy and contributing to the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in a 1997 car crash while fleeing paparazzi in Paris. His disputes with the press have deepened long‑standing strains within the royal family.

Harry, 41, has also challenged the UK government over the removal of automatic police protection following his departure from frontline royal duties. His memoir Spare, published in 2023, further widened the rift with relatives and intensified public scrutiny of the monarchy.

Media speculation surrounded his current visit, with some outlets reporting he would stay at Buckingham Palace. The palace later denied this, saying Harry had not confirmed arrangements far enough in advance.
